ACTIVITIES DEVELOPED
An exhibition showcasing medieval clothing, weaponry, and other artifacts, as part of Murcia's 1200th anniversary celebrations.
The Convent of San José in Caravaca hosts an exhibition on medieval clothing and weaponry of the Knights of Calatrava
The Order of Calatrava was the first Hispanic military religious order, founded in the 12th century during the Reconquista. It played a crucial role in the defense and expansion of Christian territories on the Iberian Peninsula, combining monastic and military life. The exhibition in Caravaca not only highlights the order's military aspect but also offers a glimpse into its cultural and religious impact on Spanish history.
The exhibition, organized by the Order of the Knights Custodians of Calatrava la Vieja in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Caravaca City Council and the Regional Government, will be accompanied by parallel educational activities. Specifically, workshops have been scheduled for 5th grade students, and a lecture entitled “Military Orders in the 21st Century” by Ramona Molina Pinar will take place in the auditorium of the Emilio Sáez Cultural Center on Tuesday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m.

The Archaeological Museum of Lorca has hosted an exhibition of Templar weapons organized by the Order of the Knights Custodians of Calatrava la Vieja
"Lorca, with its rich history, is the perfect setting to carry out this cultural initiative which aims to highlight our medieval heritage."
From May 4th to 30th, the Archaeological Museum of Lorca will become the epicenter of medieval history with an exhibition of Templar weapons and a workshop for children organized by the Cultural Association of the Knights Custodians of the Order of Calatrava.

Although born in the Malaga city of Antequera, Morente says she feels "Lorcan at heart and by adoption," in Lorca she has formed her family, with her two children and grandchildren, and numerous friends.
Throughout her career, Morente has held the positions of Director of Disability, Family and Sectoral Services and Social Policy of the Autonomous Community of Murcia in different stages, for 11 years.
Her resume also includes nine years as President of NGOs, four years as a regional deputy in the Regional Assembly of Murcia, and eight years as a councilor in the Lorca City Council. She has written several books, poetry collections, and plays.

The international painter Ms. Guillermina Sánchez Oró, born in Ceuta, but who for many years has considered herself Murcian as much as anyone, has held more than 150 exhibitions of her realistic works in various places around the world, including the United States, Mexico and Italy. On September 25, 2021, she officially donated the Oil Painting of Saint Raymond of Fitero, as well as the Watercolor Our Lady of the Martyrs.

Dr. José Cabrera Forneiro is a Spanish forensic psychiatrist. He practices clinical psychiatry and private legal medicine in Madrid, Spain. He is a member of the Spanish Medical-Surgical Academy and a trustee of the San Juan de Dios-Bética Guardianship Foundation.
Francisco Jódar Alonso has been awarded the Silver Cross, with Red distinction, which is awarded by the Order of the Knights Custodians of Calatrava la Vieja.

Dr. Francisco Carmona is a gynecologist specializing in endometriosis, benign gynecological conditions, and laparoscopic gynecological surgery. Considered one of the best gynecological surgeons internationally, he performed the first single-port gynecological surgeries and the first uterus transplants in Spain.
I want to personally thank, through my website, the Awarding of the Medal for Professional Merit by the Order of the Knights Custodians of Calatrava La Vieja. It is an honor to have received this distinction for my work related to endometriosis, as it is also a recognition of this disease that affects many women in our country.

On October 5th, at 5:00 PM, an act of appointment of new knights took place in the town of Calatrava la Vieja, among whom were personalities such as Alfredo Perdiguero (sub-inspector of the National Police Corps), Francisco Javier Simón (Economist), Daniel Notario (Businessman) or José María Oliva (Pharmacist and Businessman).
The professional careers of Javier Algarra Bonet, Gonzalo Barceló, Xavier Horcajo and our president were also recognized. Juan Luis Balmaseda de Ahumada y Diez who was awarded the bronze medal with blue distinction for professional merit.
The Order of Calatrava La Vieja honors the Civil Guards who participated in Operation Copernicus in Catalonia
On September 28, 2018, the delivery was made Medal of the Order of the Guardian Knights to all Civil Guards who participated in Operation Copernicus in Catalonia on October 1, 2017, all of them from the Ciudad Real Command and surrounding areas.

A moving and unique ceremony honoring various personalities
Everything began at four in the afternoon with a Eucharist in the chapel of Our Lady of the Incarnation, in memory of the former Master of the village organization, Ramón Ramírez de Verger Morcillo, who recently passed away.
After the mass, officiated by the Chaplain of the Order of D. Alejandro Molina, all attendees traveled to the historic enclave of Calatrava la Vieja and in one of the restored premises, the oath of the new Knights Custodians of Calatrava la Vieja took place first.
